PACE

Trelissick Gardens National Trust, Cornwall, 2015

PACE took participants on a night run. It was a performance that explored ways in which the imagination interacts with the dark. Inspired by the artist Bas Jan Ader's final journey In Search of the Miraculous, sailing from America to England.

The performance was a 100 minute outdoor adventure that began by participants being rowed out to a fishing boat, motoring out towards the sea before being dropped on a jetty. From here the participants set out running on the woodland paths; following a guide, torch lights and songs filtering in from the woods.

Go Happen created this piece as part of The Wanderers: a programme of site-specific work that went beyond the horizon in pursuit of new experiences and precarious journeys.
