The Baltic Way Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus A research expedition on bicycles. The project took inspiration from the Baltic Chain A protest that connected two million people across the Baltic States in 1989 in an act of united dedication towards their independence from Soviet control. Over a two month period we cycled from Tallinn to Minsk in a process of gathering stories from this time and researching the folkloric traditions of this area. This expedition lead us into a spiral of storytelling, wild camping, unexpected encounters and generosity. Supported by the Ferdinand Zweig Memorial Award |

On a road of fluid frames, We entered from somewhere. Borders now perfumed a feeling of fresh ease, haste without goals. We proceeded past straight lines of tired road-kill, a strange series of milestones. Turning left, to as tired a tract of land, Latvia was here. And here, sleep was ready. |
