PACE took participants on a night run. It was an encounter with the bodies imagination and the ways we interact with the dark. Inspired by the artist Bas Jan Ader's final journey In Search of the Miraculous, sailing from America to England and never returning, PACE was created in response to capture an experience of fragility and wonder.
A 100 minute outdoor adventure that began by being rowed out to a fishing boat, motoring out towards the sea before being dropped on a jetty. From here the participants then set out running on the woodland paths; following a guide and torch lights and music filtering in from the singers in the trees.
Go Happen created this piece as part of The Wanderers: a programme of site-specific work that went beyond the horizon in pursuit of new experiences and precarious journeys.
PACE took place at Trelissick Gardens National Trust on 30th August 2015.
